Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWRC) 2009
We invite you to help and be a part of our efforts as we prepare to compete in the Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWRC), an annual engineering competition conducted by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Teams
The Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Teams enable teamwork, and application of knowledge from the classroom to real-life year-long projects. The teams will be competing at the Regional Conference, and possibly the National Conference as well. The Steel Bridge Team has made it to nationals the past four years. The Concrete Canoe Team placed first in the technical paper at the 2008 Regional Conference. In order to continue their success, they will need your help. Seismic Outreach
The Seismic Outreach program introduces concepts of science, math, leadership, and engineering to the next generation of engineers through an engineering design competition. The students hear presentations from our volunteers, design and build their own structure out of K'NEX, complete associated construction documents, and go on a field trip to the UCSD campus to test their structures and get a taste of the life of a college student. The Seismic Outreach Team needs your help to continue and run this program. Please take a look at a letter from the Seismic Outreach Team.
