The Pacific Southwest Regional Conference (PSWRC) is an annual conference where universities from the Pacific Southwest region participate and compete in various events! It is an excellent opportunity to meet others from different schools.
Where is Conference held?
Conference is hosted by a different university every year, and for 2009, PSWRC will be held at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The event will run 4/2/2009 to 4/4/2009.
What events can I participate in?
You can participate in as many events as you want. Events include, but are not limited to Steel Bridge, Concrete Canoe, Impromptu Design, Quiz Bowl, Tug-O-War, Basketball, Soccer, Surveying, Technical Paper, Mystery Event and Water Resources.

How you can join SCSE for Conference
1. Pay your SCSE membership dues by the third SCSE General Body Meeting on 11/19/08. Dues are $25 or free for freshmen. Make checks payable to "SCSE at UCSD." SCSE officers will be holding "Officer Hours" each day in U409 to collect payments in advance. Officers collecting Hawaii payments will be wearing a lei, so they will be easy to find!

- Plan A: 4/1/09 (Wed) to 4/5/09 (Sun) - Less expensive option, will miss fewer classes.
- Plan B: 3/28/09 (Sat) to 4/5/09 (Sun) - 5 extra days, 4 extra nights in Hawaii.

How to pay for your trip to Conference

Individual Sponsorship
Download the Individual Sponsorship Form and Sponsorship Letter, and customize the letter with your name and contact information. Ask friends, family, employers, and anyone else you know if they will sponsor you for conference. Have them send any donations to you, but make any checks out to "SCSE at UCSD" so that they can receive the tax deduction. Then, turn in the money you receive with a completed Individual Sponsorship Form. All money you raise in this way will be put toward your individual conference fee.

Group Fundraising Events
SCSE will periodically host events to try to raise money to reduce the conference fees. Money raised at these events will go toward reducing everyone's conference fees at the time of the last payment (due February 13, which will be no more than $300). The events currently scheduled are as follows:
- Thursday, 11/20/08, California Pizza Kitchen - Print the flyer and distribute it to anyone you know. SCSE will receive 20% of money spent by anyone presenting this flyer at California Pizza Kitchen on this date.
